I bought this product to replace the extension I was using with my Ravemen CR900 bike light which has a remote switch that works via Micro USB. I used the extension only so I wouldn't wear out the female port on the Ravemen when I needed to charge the light. None of the two new ones I just bought would work with the remote switch which is what I bought them for. The extensions will work to charge other devices I have but I don't need an extension to charge those things. Big disappointment. Oddly the female port on the new extensions really don't allow the male end of any of the micro USB stuff I have to insert and be flush with the female end. This is odd. The old one I had was the same but at least it worked for about a year. What a great little product. I had looked everywhere for something like this, and I just knew that someone had to make it. At last I found it. Here is why it is such an important product. A couple years ago I had an inexpensive tablet that I really liked. It was fast and let me use a USB keyboard and mouse. However, the USB port was not particularly strong, and with constant use the USB port gave up. I paid $75 to have the USB port fixed because I liked the tablet so much. Within two weeks the port broke again, along with the part of the circuit board that held it in place. To reduce the chances of this happening, I use one of these with my new tablet almost all the time. Repeated connecting and disconnecting of the charger may wear out this little extension cable, but my USB port is likely to keep going for a very long time. My advice would be to order two of these for every tablet you have. Service was fast-- about two days to where I live in Ohio. Great little company offering a niche product that everyone really needs whether they know it or not.I got this because my kids kept blowing out the charger ports of their Kindle tablets. Mind you they were all in cases and taken very good care of. I hot glued these on the case opening. Basically tacked them to the case. That way all the wearing is on this extender and not the port. TLDR: used to keep charge port in mint condition while putting the wear on this extender only.No problems with the product. The cable is used to program radios used for Search & Rescue operations in the Cochise County, Arizona.Purchased the 6in. Cable...very pleased so far. Plugs in nicely on male end , snaps in firmly ,and fits flush..female end just as well... seem, well made and durable...only time will tell...haven't had any luck up to this point with durable cables..will up date if things change .. i am purchasing the 3 ft cable now to try it.this little cord worked as described. I wish it was just an inch longer. Anyway, I used this to connect Motorola Lapdock to android stick (Imito MX1) and it does work. it allows the lapdock to power the android stick. I'm still tinkering, but as of now, with this cord and HDMI connection, I'm able to power and display the Imito. However, with this setup, I am not able to use the Lapdock keyboard to control the Imito as I expected.Anyway, this cable does connect a male micro-usb port to a female micro-usb port, as described. I searched high and low and this is the only cable I could find that does just that, very specialized cable apparently.Oh yeah, just what I needed! No need for a long sucker ~ this one worked great for a Raspberry Pi project. Love it! Bought three ~ all great! This cable works well when you have a special need for an extension cable for charging. Typically if you simply need a longer cable, you will buy a longer cable. In my case, I use it with the phone dock in my car, which isn't ideally suited for my phone, but this allows me to make use of the dock's USB plug without taking up an additional USB port in the car or needing to resort to a power adapter for the cigarette lighter port.Considering how many inexpensive USB cables there are that do just as many things and are just as well made, this comes out on the expensive side. But it has a very specific function and there's limited competition. That doesn't make it a bad cable, but it's no bargain.
